Element 15 · EI PSM
Inspection, maintenance and asset integrity
Purpose
Maintaining the integrity of plant and equipment is an essential requirement for HS&E and process safety.
EI statement
"Management must ensure that the necessary inspection and maintenance requirements are identified and carried out to reduce the likelihood of a significant incident as a result of failure of plant or equipment."
Integrated reading
Digital assets have an integrity lifecycle too. Cyber security asset management keeps an inventory of systems and their condition, just as asset integrity does for plant. This matters most where control systems are reachable from the business network.
