Purpose
Compliance with legislation is a fundamental requirement for organisations.
EI statement
"Management must ensure that the requirements of applicable legislation are identified, understood and complied with."
Integrated reading
EI asks for the legislation and standards that bear on process safety to be identified, tracked and complied with. The mechanism does not change with the subject. Tax, competition law, data privacy, customs, export controls and emissions trading are legal obligations like any other, and belong in the same register, with the same owners and the same compliance check.
