Being well prepared in terms of organisation, resources and capability underpins consistent delivery to meet a company's objectives. It is important to extend OMS consistency to contractors, who are a key resource when deployed to increase the organisation's capability.

  • 1.Maintain an organisation with defined responsibilities, accountabilities and authorities.
  • 2.Recruitment, deployment, career development, retention and succession plans are in place.
  • 3.A competence assurance process exists.
  • 4.There is a system to allocate appropriate and sufficient internal and external resources.
  • 5.The organisation has mechanisms for joint participation and management consultation.
  • 6.Where external resources are deployed, processes evaluate, select and perform assurance.
