Element 04 · IOGP 510
Stakeholders and Customers
Purpose
To define how the organisation engages with everyone who is not the organisation — regulators, suppliers, contractors, partners, customers, communities and other stakeholders — and to engineer those interfaces deliberately rather than discover them by accident.
The challenge it forces
"This element reveals where the organisation's control ends and somebody else's begins. A weak Element 4 means the organisation does not know the boundary of its own management system — which is the boundary of its own accountability."
