Element 04 · IOGP 510

Stakeholders and Customers

To define how the company engages with everyone who is not the organisation — regulators (HSE, financial, environmental), suppliers, contractors, JV partners, customers, communities and other stakeholders. Financial regulators, lenders and tax authorities are first-class stakeholders alongside operational ones.

"This element reveals where the organisation's control ends and somebody else's begins. A weak Element 4 means the organisation does not know the boundary of its own management system — which is the boundary of its own accountability."
